WASEELA

TAWASSUL/WASEELA//ISTIGHASA

Alhamdulillah, hum Ahlesunnat wal Jamaat ka aqeeda hai ki beshak ALLAH TA'ALA kisi Waseele ka mohtaj to nahi wo chahe to bagair waseele ke bhi jo kuch chahe ata kar sakta hai. Lekin fir bhi usne Qainat ka jo nizam chalaya wo waseele se chalaya to pata chalta hai ki ALLAH TA'ALA ko waseela pasnd hai, isiliye hum Ahlesunnat wal jamaat apni duaao ke liye ALLAH ki bargah me waseela pesh karte hain..

Misal ke taur pe aaiye dekhte hain ki ALLAH TA'ALA ne H.ADAM alaihe salam ko jab paida kiya, to bagair Maa Baap ke paida kiya aur jab chaha to duniya me bhej diya, to ALLAH ne ye zahir kar diya ki wo kisi Waseele ka mohtaj nahi hai, wo chahe to bagair waseele bagair maa bap ke bhi kisi ko paida farma sakta hai aur usey khila pila sakta hai. haajat rawai kar sakta hai. lekin fir ALLAH ne H.Adam alaihe salam ke baad se kisi ko bhi wagair waseela, bagair maa baap ke duniya me nahi bheja, balki sabko maa baap ke zariye, sari naslo ko H.Adam alaihe salam ke waseele se duniya ka nizam qayem kar dia, taki duniya wale ye bhi dekh len ki ALLAH ko Waseela hi pasand hai.
Aur fir waseele ka hukm to ALLAH ne Quran me bhi diya hai, to fir waseele ka mutlaq inkar karne wala kafir ho jayega,
.
QURAN KI ROSHNI ME:
.



يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَابْتَغُوا إِلَيْهِ الْوَسِيلَةَ وَجَاهِدُوا فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
(Sureh Maidah 35)
Tarjuma: Aye Eiman walo, ALLAH se daro aur uski taraf waseela talash karo aur uski raah me jihad karo, is umid par ki tum falaah paao.

to yahan ALLAH ne khud hi Waseela dhundne ka hukm diya, to kya Quran me bhi kahin shirk ka hukm ho sakta hai?
to baat saaf hai ki waseela shirk to ho hi nahi sakta.
lekin ab sawal ye aata hai ki akhir kiska waseela dhundne ka hukm diya ja raha hai?

Zahir baat hai ki ALLAh ko waseela usi ka pasand hoga jo chiz ALLAH ki bargah me maqbul hogi.

Proof#1:Adaab-e-Dua:
Translation: Har Shaks ko Dua me Ambiya aur Salehin ka Waseela lekar dua mangni chahiye.
(Kitab ke akhir me Imam Ibn Jazri rehmatullah alaihe farmate hain)
Dua puri hone ke baad Insan ko apne chehre par hath pher lena chahiye.

Kya aap kisi se baaten kar rahe the? "
to aapne jawab diya ki- Wo Banu Ka'b ka ek rajiz tha, Khuza'a ki ek choti Jamat mujhe madad ke liye pukar rahi thi (yastas.rikhunî
) aur mujse zor dekar keh rahi thi ki Quraysh ne Banu Bakr ko unke Khilaf madad ki hai.
Dusre ne Hudaibiya se jung ke waqt Quraysh se apni dosti kar li thi, aur Banu Khuza'a ne Muhammad sallallaho alaihe wasallam ka sath liya, aur wo unhe bachane ke liye Muqarrar the, Banu Bakr ke liye Quraysh ka sath Khuza'a ke khilaf tha, isliye wahan par Muhammad sallallaho alaihe wasallam ke sath Aarzi Sulah ki Hurmat ho gayi thi.
Ye Ittefaq Fateh Makka ki haunsla Afzai ke liye tha.
Bas isi ke baad wo isme Dakhil hue aur Fateh Hasil kar li.

1: Nabi sallallaho alaihe wasallam ka Waseela liya gaya.
2: Nabi sallallaho alaihe wasallam ko Door se bhi madad ke liye pukarna jaez hai.
3: Nabi alaihe salam door se hi apne chahne walo ki awaz sun bhi lete hain, aur farmaya ki [(Labbayka labbayka labbayka) – yanhi Hazir bhi ho jate hain,
4: Nabi alaihe salam apne ghar se hi sara muamla dekh rahe the, isiliye H. Maymuna r.a ko sab kuch aise hi bata diya. Yani aap door se dekh bhi sakte hain, sun bhi sakte hain, aur Madad ko Hazir bhi ho sakte hain,

HADEES# 3: Yahya Bin Yahya par tehqiq se Imam Ibn Hajar aur Imam Hakim ka Aqeeda hai ki Awliya ki Qabro par jaakar Waseela lena jaez hai:
Ibn Hajar likhte hain ki Imam Hakim ne kahai ki maine Abu Ali Nishapori se suna tha ki ek bar wo bahot zyada sadme me the, tab unhone Nabi sallallaho alaihe wasallam ka khwab me deedar kiya, aur Nabi sallallaho alaihe wasallam ne hukm farmaya ki Yahya Bin Yahya ki Qabr ke paas jaao, aur istighfar karo aur unke Waseele se madad mango,
Abu Ali Nishapori farmate hain ki maine aisa kiya to meri pareshani door ho gayi.

magar ye Wahabi fir bhi inkar karte hain,

Kya aaj ke Wahabi itne zyada qabil ho gaye hain ki Nabi alaihe salam ke hukm ke khilaf apni baat bolen?

HADEES#4: Aliyul Murtaza farmate hain,
Maine Nabi sallallaho alaihe wasallam se suna.

"Abdaal, Sham me hote hain,
Ye 40 Mard hain,
inme se jab koi ek marta hai to Khuda uski jaga dusra muqarrar kar deta hai,
Inke Wasile se barish hoti hai,
Inke Wasile se Jang me fateh milti hai,
aur inke Wasile se Sham walo par se Azab dafa kiya jata hai."

"Aye Sahib-e-Qabr, Nabi sallallaho alaihe wasallam, Aye Sahaba, Aye hamare madadgar, hamare halaat ko dekhiye"

HADEES#6: H.Abu Harb Hilali r.a farmate hain, Ek martaba ek Arabi Hajj karne aaya, fir Masjid-e-Nabwi me hazir hua, usne apna oont bahar bandh diya, fir Qabr ke pair ki jabi khada hua aur kaha
"Aye Nabi sallallaho alaihe wasallam, Maine Gunah kiye hain, so mai apki bargah me hazir hua hu taki apko apni Duaao me Waseela bana lu, Kyunki ALLAH ne apni Kitab me farmaya hai ki 'Aur Jab ye log apni Jaano per zulm karen to pehle tumhare Huzur hazir ho, fir Allah se apne liye madad chahen, fir jab Rasool bhi unke liye Maghfirat ki dua farma den, tab ye apne Rabo bada maaf karne wala payenge'

HADEES 7: SAHABA KA AQIDA, RAUZA-E-RASOOL ALAIHE SALAM PE JAKAR APNI MAGHFIRAT TALAB KARTE HAIN:
.
Al-Quran: } وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ لِيُطَاعَ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُوۤاْ أَنْفُسَهُمْ جَآءُوكَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُواْ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّاباً رَّحِيماً {
(Sureh Nisa, Ayat 64)

Tarjuma: Aur humne Rasool na bheja, magar isliye ki ALLAH ke hukm se uski ita'at ki jaye, aur Aye Mehbu, jab ye log apni Jaano par zulm karen(Gunah karen) to pehle apke paas hazir ho, fir apne Rab se maghfirat chahen, fir jab Rasool bhi inke liye maghfirat chahen,
tab ye apne Rab ko bada maaf karne wala payenge.

Is Aayat ke tehet Imam Qurtubi r.a likhte hain:
.
Imam Sadiq r.a farmate hain ki H.Ali r.a ne farmaya:
Nabi alaihe salam ke wisal ke 3 din ke baad, ek dehati aaya, aur Nabi alaihe salam ke Rauze par ja gira, Rauze ki kuch mitti uthai, aur apne sar pe mal liya,
aur kaha:
YA RASOOLALLAH!
Aapne farmaya tha aur humne suna tha ki ALLAH TA'ALA ne apse farmaya ki
'Aur jAb ye log apni jaan par zul karen, to pehle Aye Mehbub, pehle ye tumhare paas ayen, aur fir apne Rab se maghfirat talab karen,
aur fir jab Aap bhi inke liye maafi chahen, tab ye apne Rab ko bada maaf karne wala payenge.'
.
Aur mai unme se ek hu, maine apni Jaan par zulm kiya, to mai apke paas aaya hu, taki aap mere liye Maghfirat ki dua kijiye,
iske baad Rauza-e-Rasool se ye awaz aayi 'Jaao, beshak tumhari maghfirat kar di gayi.'

Sanad: Abdullah Abdul al Muhsin ne kaha: Is Hadees ke raawi Abu Sadiq kehte hain(ra), kya tumhe pata hai ki Jinka naam Abu Sadiq Hai, wo Al Awazi al Kufi (ra) hain, Abdullah bin Najiz ne kaha: Sadduq (bharosemand), aur ye Hadees Mursil (Jayyid) hai.

Zara ghaur famaiye, is riwayat se 4 baate waazeh hoti hain,

1: Nabi alaihe salam ke wisal ke baad us shaks ne pukara,
''Ya Rasoolallah!''
tab Sahaba ne shirk ka fatwa kyu nahi lagaya?
Iska matlab Wisal ke baad bhi ''YA RASOOLALLAH'' kehna jaez hai.

2: Rasoolallah alaihe salam, apne wisal ke baad bhi hamari pukar ko sunte hain, aur agar apki marzi ho, to jawab bhi dete hain,
tabhi to us Dehati ko uski maghfiart ki basharat, Qabr se mili..
.
3: Qabr pe jaakar, waseela lena, aur unse kehna ki ''Aap hamare liye Allah se dua kijiye''
aur Allah ki bargah me isteghasa pesh karna bhi jaez hai.
.
Aur ayat ke tehet ye bhi waazeh ho gaya ki Rasoolullah alaihe salam ke chahne se bando ko maghfirat mil jati hai.
Kyunki Allah ne khud farma diya ki
'Aye Mehbub, jab aap bhi inke liye maghfirat chahen, tab ye apne Rab ko bada maaf karne wala payenge'

HADEES 8: Ek shaks kayi bar H.Usman Bin Affan r.a ke paas apni hajat rawai ke liye aata, lekin H.Usman r.a ne uspar tawajjoh nahi diya,
tab wo H.Usman Bin Hunaif r.a ke paas gaya aur maamle ki shikayat ki.
To H.Usman Bin Hunaif r.a ne farmaya:
Jaao, achhi tarah wuzu karo, aur fir Masjid me aakar 2 rakat Namaz ada karo, aur fir is tarah kaho,
''Aye ALLAH! mai tujhse sawal karta hu, aur teri taraf rukh karta hu, aur Muahmmed allallaho alaihe wasallam Nabi-e-Rehmat ke waseele se tujhse dua karta hu, Aye Mohammed sallallaho alaihe wasallam, Maine apni hajat ke liye apke Waseele se ALLAH ki taraf rukh kiya, aye ALLAH! Ye Waseela qubul farma''
aur fir apni Haajat pesh karo, aur fir mai tumhare sath H.Usman r.a ke paas chalta hu.
.
To us shaks ne waisa hi kiya, jaisa ki use karne ke liye kaha gaya tha,
fir iske baad wo H.Usman r.a ki bargah me hazir hua, Darwaze wale ne is shaks ka hath pakda aur H.Usman r.a ke paas le jaakar bitha diya,
H.Usman r.a ne pucha, 'Tumhe kya chahiye?'
to us Shaks ne apni Hajat pesh kiya, jo kuch use zarurat thi, tab H.Usman r.a ne use ata farma diya.

Is Hadees ko Imam Munziri r.a ne SALAT-UL-HAJAT me naqal farmaya hai, aur kaha ki Imam Tabrani ne is Hadees ki Sanad ko SAHIH kaha hai.

HADEES 9: WISAAL KE BAAD AMBIYA KI QABR SE FAIDA MILTA HAI:
H.AYESHA SIDDIQA R.A KA AQEEDA:
.
Abu-Al-Jawaza Aws Bin Abdullah r.a se Imam Darimi riwayat karte hain ki, Madina ke log ek bar sukha padne ki waja se pareshan ho gaye,
wo H.Ayesha Siddiqa r.a ke pas apni shikayat lekar pahuche,
Aapne farmaya ki Rasoolullah alaihe salam ki Qabr ke paas jaao, aur unke Rauze aur asman ke darmiyan upar ek khdiki khol do, taki Rauza-e-Aqdas aur Asman ke darmiyan koi parda na reh jaye,
raawi farmate hain ki humne aisa kiya to bahot zor se barish shuru ho gayi, hari bhari ghaas nikal aayin, aur hamare oont mote ho gaye, ki lagta tha zyada khane ki waja se phoot padenge.
So is saal ka naam Hariyali wala saal rakha gaya.

AHLEHADEESO KE GURU QAZI SHAWKANI LIKHTE HAIN:
.
HADEES 11: H.Usman Bin Hunaif r.a se riwayat hai,ki ek Naa-beena(Andha ) shaks Nabi sallallaho alaihe wasallam ki bargah m hazir hua aur bola,
'Aap mere liye dua kijiye ki ALLAH mujhe shifa ata farmaye,'
to Aap alaihe salam ne farmaya:
'Agar tum sabr karo, to ye tumhare liye zyada behtar hoga, aur agar tum chaho to mai tumhare liye dua karu'
.
To usne kaha 'Aap Dua kijiye,'
Aap alaihe salam ne farmaya:
jaao, achhi tarah wuzu karo, aur fir 2 Rakat namaz padho, aur fir is tarah Dua karo,
"Allahumma lnni as'aluka wa atawajjahu ilaikabimuhamma din nabiyyir-rahma. Ya
Muhammadu inni qad tawajjahtu bika ila rabbi fi hajati hadhihi lituqda.
Allahumma fashaffi’hu fiya.
Tarjuma: Aye ALLAH! mai tujhse sawal karta hu, aur teri taraf rukh karta hu, aur Muahmmed allallaho alaihe wasallam Nabi-e-Rehmat ke waseele se tujhse dua karta hu, Aye Mohammed sallallaho alaihe wasallam, Maine apni hajat ke liye apke Waseele se ALLAH ki taraf rukh kiya, aye ALLAH! Ye Waseela qubul farma'

HADEES 12:
.
الحديث أخرجه البزار كما قال المصنف رحمه الله وهو من حديث ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا انفلتت دابة أحدكم بأرض فلاة فليناد يا عباد الله احبسوا فإن الله حاضر في الأرض سيحبسه وأخرجه أيضا من حديثه أبو يعلى الموصلي والطبراني وابن السني قال في مجمع الزوائد وفيه معروف بن حسان وهو ضعيف قال النووي في الأذكار بعد أن روى هذا الحديث عنكتاب ابن السني قلت وحكى لي بعض شيوخنا الكبار في العلم أنها انفلتت دابته أظنها بغلة وكان يعرف هذا الحديث فقاله فحبسها الله عليه في الحال وكنت أنا مرة مع جماعة فانفلتت معنا بهيمة فعجزوا عنها فقلته فوقفت في الحال بغير سبب وإن أراد عونا فليقل يا عباد الله أعينوا يا عباد الله أعينوا يا عباد الله أعينوا ط الحديث أخرجه الطبراني في الكبير كما قال المصنف رحمه الله وهو من حديث عتبة بن غزوان عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال إذا ضل على أحدكم شيء وأراد أحدكم عونا وهو بأرض فلاة ليس بهاأحد فليقل يا عباد الله أعينوا يا عباد اللهأعينوا يا عباد الله أعينوا فإن لله عباد لايراهم قال في مجمع الزوائد ورجاله وثقوا على ضعف في بعضهم إلا أن زيد بن علي لم يدرك عتبة وأخرج البزار من حديث ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلمقال إن لله ملائكة في الأرض سوى الحفظة يكتبون ما سقط من ورق الشجر فإذا أصاب أحدكمشيء بأرض فلاة فليناد أعينوني يا عباد الله قال في مجمع الزوائد رجاله ثقات وفي الحديث دليل على جواز الاستعانة بمن لا يراهم الإنسان من عباد الله من الملائكة وصالحي الجن وليس في ذلك بأس كما يجوز للإنسان أن يستعين ببني آدم إذا عثرت دابته أو انفلتت
.
Translation: Aur agar log kisi veeran jaga par ho, aur Madad ki zarurat ho to is Tarah pukare ki "Aye ALLAH ke bando meri madad kijiye"
to Allah ke chhupe hue bande jo nazar nahi aate, wo madad karte hain.

Al-Bazzar ne H.Ibne Abbas r.a se riwayat kiya ki Nabi alaihesalam ne farmaya:
beshak is zameen per ALLAH ke kuch aise nek Bande Chhupe hue hote hain jo har chiz ka moaina karte rehte hain. Yahan tak ki ped se ek patti gire.
To Jab kabhi tum me se kisi ko koi taklif pesh aye,.

unse madad mangne ki dalil hai.

HADEES 13: Dawood bin Abu Salih se riwayat hai, ek din Marwan aaya aur usne dekha ki ek shaks Rauza-e-Qadas ke paas baitha hua hai aur usne apne muh ko Qabr-e-Anwar se laga diya hai. Ye dekhkar Marwan ne usse kaha
"Tumhe pata hai ye tum kya kar rahe ho??"
ye sunkar jab wo Shaks palte to dekha ki wo Sahabi-e-Rasol H.Abu Ayyub Ansari r.a the, aur unhone jawab diya
"Haan, mai janta hu, aur mai yahan ALLAH ke Rasool alaihe salam ke paas aaya hu, kisi patthar ke paas nahi aaya. Maine Rasool sallallaho alaihe wasallam ko kehte hue suna ki Mazhab par mat rona jabki iske Rehbar Qabil ho, haan Mazhab par aansu bahana jabki iske rehbar qabil na ho."

''Aye Allah, mai Muahammed sallallaho alaihewasallam ke waseele se tujhse dua mangta hu, mujhe maaf kar de,''
to Allah Taala ne pucha, 'Tumne Muhammed sallallaho alaihe wasallam ko kaise jaana?'
to H.Aadam alaihe salam ne farmaya: Jab tune mujhe banaya tha tab maine apna sar upar ki taraf uthaya to dekha ki Arsh likha tha,
'LA ILAHA ILLALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASOOLULLAH'

Imam Ghazali r.a farmate hain,
Jab bhi koi shaks kisi musibat me ho, to wo Qabr walo se madad mange, jo Ruhani taqat wale hote hain,
aur isme koi Shak nahi ki unki Qabr ki ziyarat se ruhani madad milti hai,
aur faiz hasil hota hai. Aur bahot bar jab unka Waseela ALLAH ki bargah me pesh kiya jata hai, to Musibato ko khatm kar diya jata hai.

Itne bade bade Aimma ne bhi tamam Hadeeso ka muta'ala karne ke baad, Quran ki tamam Aayato per tehqiq karne ke baad yehi masla nikala ki Allah ke nek Bando/Auliya ki qabr se hum sabko madad bhi milti hai, aur faida bhi milta hai.

PROOF#17: MUJADDID OF 7TH CENTURY IMAM IBN AL-HAAJ ON TAWASSUL/WASEELA:

Imam Ibn Al-Haaj r.a ne Ziyarat-e-Auliya ke talluq se ek mukammal chapter likha hai, isme likhte hain, Mutallim(Students) ko Auliya aur Saliheen ki Ziyarat-e-Karte rehna chahiye, ki inki ziyarat se Dilo ko zindagi milti hai, logo ke dil khil jate hain, jaise ki Barish se zameen khil jati hai. Inki duayen Allah ki bargah me hamesha maqbul hoti hai, Allah inki duayen aur niyaten kabhi radd nahi karta, aur jo log inki mehfilo me shirkat karte hain aur jo llog inse Muhabbat karte hain, wo isliye ki ALLAH aur RASOOL ke baad ye Auliya rhmat hain. Jo har insan ke liye hain,
to jis kisi me ye khobiya ho to jaldi hi aise shaks se faizyab ho, aur unse barkat hasil karen, jo inse mulaqat karte hain wo Behtarin Ilm aur zehniyat hasil karte hain jise samjhaya nahi ja sakta. Isi maane ke tehet aapne kuch logo ko Ilm aur wajd me Bakhoobi dekha hoga, jo bhi in tabarrukat ki tazim karta hai, wo kabhi inki barkat aur rehmat se door nahi hota. Lekin shart ye hai ki jo inse faizyab hona chahe, wo Sunnato ka paband ho, aur uske amal se sabit ho.

PROOF#18: Al-Raza ki qabr par jane aur unke Tawassul ke bare me Imam Ibn Hibban likhte hain ki jab bhi mai kisi Musibat me hota to Ali Bin Musa r.a ki Qabr pe chala jata aur unke waseele se dua karta ALLAH unke Dada per rehem farmaye, aur ALLAH se kehta ki meri pareshani ko door kar de. Is chiz ko maine aksar kiya aur ye asardar paya ” (مات على بن موسى الرضا بطوسمن شربة سقاه إياها المأمون فمات من ساعته وذلك في يوم السبت آخر يوم سنة ثلاث ومائتينوقبره بسناباذ خارج النوقان مشهور يزار بجنب قبر الرشيد، قد زرته مرارا كثيرة وما حلت بي شدة في وقت مقامى بطوس فزرت قبر على بن موسى الرضا صلوات الله على جده وعليه ودعوت الله إزالتها عنى إلا أستجيب لي وزالت عنى تلك الشدة وهذا شيء جربته مرارا فوجدته كذلك أماتنا الله على محبة المصطفى وأهل بيته صلى الله عليه وعليهم أجمعين)

Defination of Ahlus sunnah from sahih hadiths

Hadith # 1
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
Transliteration : Alaykum bi al-jama`a fa innallaha la yajma`u ummata Muhammadin `ala dalala
Translation : “You have to follow the Congregation for verily Allah will not make the largest group of Muhammad’s Community agree on error

[ Reference : Ibn Abi Shayba relates it with a sound chain as hadith # 354 ]

Hadith # 2
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]

Allah will never let my Ummah agree upon misguidance, and the hand of Allah is over the group (Jama’ah), so follow the great mass of believers (Sawad ul-’Azam), and whoever dissents from them departs to hell

[A narration "AUTHENTICATED" and reported by al-Hakim (1/116), and al-Dhahabi agreed with him]
Hadith # 3 :
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
La yajma`ullahu ummati `ala dalala

“Verily Allah will not make my Community agree on error
[ Reference:Tirmidhi with a fair (hasan) chain ]

Hadith # 4
Inna Allaha la yajma`u ummati — aw qala: ummata Muhammadin –`ala dalalatin wa yadullahi ma` al-jama`a

“Verily Allah will not make my Community — or Muhammad’s Community — agree on error, and Allah’s hand is with the largest Congregation.“

[Reference :Tirmidhi (gharib) #2256, Cairo ed. `Aridat al-ahwadhi (11:9)]
Note here that above hadith is called Gharib but a Gharib hadith is not necessarily Daeef, even if we agree it is that Authentic hadith of Imam Hakim [rah] makes it Sahih as wordings are same. What wahabis mostly do is to show only one chain and claim all hadiths are Daeef which is misguiding ignorant people actually.

Hadith # 5:
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
Man arada minkum bi habuhat al-jannati fal yulzim al-jama`at

“Whoever among you wants to be in the middle of Paradise, let him cling to the Congregation.”
[Reference : Tirmidhi related it and said it is sound (sahih).]

Hadith # 6:
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
Inna al-shaytana dhaybun ka dhayb al-ghanam ya’khudh al-shat al-qasiya wal-najiya fa iyyakum wal-shu`aab wa `alaykum bil-jama`ati wal-`aammati wal-masjid

“Shaytan is a wolf like the wolf that preys on sheep, taking the isolated and the stray among them; therefore, avoid factionalism and keep to the Congregation and the collective and the masjid.”

[Reference: Ahmad relates it through Mu`adh and through Abu Dharr, the two chains being respectively fair [hasan] and sound [sahih] according to Haythami in Majma` al-zawa’id 6/123]

Hadith # 7:
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
Inna ummati la tajtami`u `ala dalalatin fa idha ra’aytum al-ikhtilaf fa `alaykum bi al-sawad al-a`zam.

“My Community shall never agree upon misguidance, therefore, if you see divergences, you must follow the greater mass or larger group

► Ibn Majah (2:1303 #3950) from Anas with a weak chain.
► Imam Ahmad narrates it mawquf through three sound chains to Abu Umama al-Bahili and Ibn Abi Awfa. However, it is marfu` to the Prophet from Abu Umama by Ibn Abi Shayba in his Musannaf as well as Ibn Jarir al-Tabari, the latter two’s narration stating that Abu Umama heard this from the Prophet up to seven times. Bayhaqi in al-Madkhal narrates something similar from Ibn `Abbas.
Above hadith came from multiple chains, one daeef [weak] and three other Sahih ones.

Hadith # 8 :
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
Lan tajtami`a ummati `ala dalalatin fa `alaykum bi al-jama`ati fa inna yadullahi `ala al-jama`a.
“My Community shall not agree upon misguidance. Therefore, you must stay with the Congregation, and Allah’s hand is over the Congregation.

[Reference: Tabarani narrated it with two chains from Ibn `Umar, one of which is sound (sahih). See Haythami, Majma` al-zawa'id, chapter on the obligation to stay with the Congregation.]

Hadith # 9 :
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
Innallaha qad ajara ummati min an tajtami`a `ala dalala

“Verily Allah has protected my Community from agreeing upon error.”

[Ibn Abi `Asim narrated it in the Sunna and Wahabi so called mujtahid Albani declared it hasan in his Silsila sahiha (3:319).]

Hadith # 10 :
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]

Sahih Bukhari Book 56 Hadith 803
Narrated Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman:
,
….. He said, “Yes, there will be some people who will invite others to the doors of Hell, and whoever accepts their invitation to it will be thrown in it (by them).” I said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Describe those people to us.” He said, “They will belong to us and speak our language (i.e Arabic) ” I asked, “What do you order me to do if such a thing should take place in my life?”

He said, “Adhere to the CONGREGATION OF MUSLIMS and their Chief.” I asked, “If there is neither a group (of Muslims) nor a chief (what shall I do)?” He said, “Keep away from all those different sects, even if you had to bite (i.e. eat) the root of a tree, till you meet Allah while you are still in that state.”[END]
So if Congregation of muslims [sawad us adham ] is not available one is advised to keep away from all smaller sects according to sahih bukhari

Hadith # 11 :
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
Yadu Allah `ala al-jama`a

“Allah’s hand is over the group.”

[Sunan Tirmidhi , Hadith termed hasan]
al-Munawi said: “Allah’s hand is over the group means His protection and preservation for them, signifying that the collectivity of the people of Islam are in Allah’s fold, so be also in Allah’s shelter, in the midst of them, and do not separate yourselves from them. Whoever diverges from the overwhelming majority concerning what is lawful and unlawful and on which the Community does not differ has slipped off the path of guidance and this will lead him to hell.

Hadith # 12 :
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
Yadu Allah `ala al-jama`at wa man shadhdha shadhdha ila al-nar.

“Allah’s hand is over the group, and whoever dissents from them departs to hell
[Tirmidhi (gharib) from Ibn `Umar, al-Hakim both from Ibn `Umar and Ibn `Abbas, and Ibn Jarir from Ibn `Umar.]

Hadith # 13 :
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
Yadu Allah `ala al-jama`a, ittabi`u al-sawad al-a`zam fa innahu man shadhdha shadhdha ila al-nar.

“Allah’s hand is over the group, follow the largest mass, for verily whoever dissents from them departs to hell

[ Narrated by al-Hakim and al-Tabari from Ibn `Abbas, and al-Lalika'i in al-Sunna and al-Hakim also narrated it from Ibn `Umar.]

Hadith # 14:
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
Man faraqa al-jama`ata shibran mata maytatan Jahiliyya.

“Whoever leaves the Community or separates himself from it by the length of a span, dies the death of the Jahiliyya (period of ignorance prior to Islam)”
[Sahih Muslim (Imara #55) through Ibn `Abbas. Muslim relates it with slight variations through three more chains. Ibn Abi Shayba also relates it in his Musannaf.]

Hadith # 15 :
On following Ahlus sunnah wal jammat [majority group]
Abu Ghalib said that during the crisis with the Khawarij in Damascus he saw Abu Umama one day and he was crying. He asked him what made him cry and he replied: “They followed our religion,” then he mentioned what was going to happen to them tomorrow. Abu Ghalib said: “Are you saying this according to your opinion or from something you heard the Prophet say?” Abu Umama said: “What I just told you I did not hear from the Prophet only once, or twice, or three times, but more than seven times. Did you not read this verse in Al `Imran: The day faces will be white and faces will be dark…”? (3:106) to the end of the verse. Then he said: I heard the Prophet say: “The Jews separated into 71 sects, 70 of which are in the fire; the Christians into 72 sects, 71 of which are in the fire; and this Community will separate into 73 sects, all of them are in the fire except one which will enter Paradise.” We said: “Describe it for us.” He said: “The Sawad al-a`zam [the majority group ] .“

Hadith # 16
Sataftariqu ummati `ala thalathat wa sab`ina firqatin kulluhum fil nari ila millatin wahidat, qalu man hiya ya rasulallah, qala ma ana `alayhi wa as-habi

“My Community will split into seventy-three sects. All of them will be in the fire except one group. They asked: Who are they, O Messenger of Allah? He said: Those that follow my way and that of my companions.”

Hadith # 17
What is meaning of word Sawad us Azam according to Sahih hadiths itself
لَمَّا أُسْرِيَ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَعَلَ يَمُرُّ بِالنَّبِيِّ وَالنَّبِيَّيْنِ وَمَعَهُمْ الْقَوْمُ وَالنَّبِيِّ وَالنَّبِيَّيْنِ وَمَعَهُمْ الرَّهْطُ وَالنَّبِيِّ وَالنَّبِيَّيْنِ وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ أَحَدٌ حَتَّى مَرَّ بِسَوَادٍ عَظِيمٍ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا قِيلَ مُوسَى وَقَوْمُهُ وَلَكَنِ ارْفَعْ رَأْسَكَ فَانْظُرْ قَالَ فَإِذَا سَوَادٌ عَظِيمٌ قَدْ سَدَّ الْأُفُقَ مِنْ ذَا الْجَانِبِ وَمِنْ ذَا الْجَانِبِ فَقِيلَ هَؤُلَاءِ أُمَّتُكَ وَسِوَى هَؤُلَاءِ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ فَدَخَلَ وَلَمْ يَسْأَلُوهُ وَلَمْ يُفَسِّرْ لَهُمْ فَقَالُوا نَحْنُ هُمْ وَقَالَ قَائِلُونَ هُمْ أَبْنَاؤُنَا الَّذِينَ وُلِدُوا عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ هُمْ الَّذِينَ لَا يَكْتَوُونَ وَلَا يَسْتَرْقُونَ وَلَا يَتَطَيَّرُونَ وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ فَقَامَ عُكَّاشَةُ بْنُ مِحْصَنٍ فَقَالَ أَنَا مِنْهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ ثُمَّ قَامَ آخَرُ فَقَالَ أَنَا مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ سَبَقَكَ بِهَا عُكَّاشَةُ

Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated: When the Prophet (SAW) was taken to the (heavens for the) mi’raj, he passed by a Prophet and Prophets with whom were a group of people, a Propher and Prophets with whom was a raht, a Prophet and Prophets with whom was nobody till he passed by a great multitude (sawad us azam) . He asked. “Who is this?” He was told, “Musa and his people, but raise your head and see.” He said, “I saw a great multitude that had plugged the horizon from this side barricaded the horizon from that side.” He was told, “These are you ummah and apart from these there are seventy thousand of your ummah who will enter paradise without any accounting.” Then he came (home) and they did not ask him and he did not explain to them. They said (to one another), “We are among them.” And some said, “they are the children born on nature and on Islam.’ The Prophet came out and said, “They are those who do not have themselves cauterised or treated with incantation (charms) , or believe in omens, but on their Lord do they rely. Ukashah ibn Mihsan got up and said, “Am I one of them,O Messenger of , “Yes.” Then another came and asked, “Am I one of them?” He said, “Ukashah overtook you in that.”

From above Hadiths following things can be seen

► The hadith of sawad us azam [following majority] comes from several chains. From many Sahih chains and few weak , Please be careful because Wahabis [salafis] misquote and show only Daeef chains to misguide others where as if same words are present in Sahih chains or hasan ones than Daeef hadith itself is termed as Sahih.
► The term Congregation [jama'h] and Sawad us azam [ largest group] are used to define same group of muslims which will be on right path.
► The Largest group or congregation of muslims will follow Quran and sunnah and way of Sahabas [ra] as well. Like Ahlus sunnah does.

orthodox sunni muslim follower of Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l-Jamā‘h follower of imam abu hanifa with barelvi thoughts

1. The Ahl as-Sunnat Wal Jama’at is the largest group of Muslims and the only group whose beliefs and teachings are truly in accord ance with the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah of the Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam).


2. The beliefs of this group are the same as the beliefs of the Sahaba or Noble Companions of the Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) and the Salf-e-Saliheen (our great pious predecessors).

3. In many Ahadith,the Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) strongly advised the Muslims to follow his Sunnah and to remain steadfast upon the path of his Sahaba, the Salf-e-Saliheen and the majority of Muslims to remain steadfast upon the way of the Ahl-as-Sunnah.

4. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “I have left two things behind me for you (the Ummah). You will never go astray as long as you follow these two things. One of these two things is Allah’s Holy Book (the Qur’an al-Kareem) and the other is the Sunnah of his Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam).” (Muwatta Imam Malik)

5. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said that after he passes away his Ummah should remain firmly steadfast upon his Sunnah and upon the way of his four Muslim Caliphs. He advised us to follow this Path alone and to be beware of innovations, which contradict the Nobel Qur’an and his Sunnah. (Abu Dawud; Tirmizi)

6. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Follow the way of the largest group of Muslims! For, he who deviates from this group will be thrown into Hell!” (Ibn Majah)

REMAINING WITH THE AHL AS-SUNNAH WAL JAMA’AH

1. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) advised us to remain firm with the largest group of Muslims and remain steadfast upon their way in beliefs and in actions.

2. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Allah will never allow my Ummah to unite upon misguidance and incorrect beliefs. Allah’s mercy, blessings and protection are with the largest group of Muslims. And he who deviates from this largest group of Muslims will be thrown into Hell.” (Tirmizi)

3. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “He who deviates from the largest group of Muslims, even as much as a hand span, has himself cut off his connection with Islam”. (Abu Dawud)

ABSTAINING FROM MISGUIDED GROUPS

1. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) clearly warned his Ummah to completely abstain from joining in the gatherings of or listening to the words of any of the other misguided groups that will appear amongst the Muslims, whose beliefs will contradict the beliefs of the largest group of Muslims.

2. The beliefs of the largest group of Muslims will be in accordance with the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) the beliefs of the Sahaba and the Salf-e-Saliheen.

3. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: ” In the period prior to the Day of Judgement, false and deceitful groups will emerge. They will say things to you, which neither you nor your forefathers will have ever heard before. Stay away from these deceitful people and do not let them come near you! Do not be misguided by them and do not let them cause strife amongst you!” (Sahih Muslim)

DIVISIONS IN THE UMMAH

1. The concept of the Muslim nation separating into 73 sects, is taken from authentic Ahadith such as the following related by Hadrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu):“The Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: ‘The Jews separated into 71 sects, and the Christians into 72, and my nation will divide into 73 sects.’” (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah)

2. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Seventy-two (of the 73 sects of the Muslim nation) will be in the fire, and only one will be in Paradise; it is the Jama’ah (i.e. Ahl-as Sunnah Wa Jamaah).” (Abi Dawud, Ad-Darimi, Ahmad)

3. There is another narration which states:”The Companions asked: ‘Which sect will triumph (i.e. achieve salvation)?’ The Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) replied: ‘The sect which adheres to that (set of beliefs and practices) which I and my Companions adhere to.’”

4. It should be clear from these Ahadith that the one sect, out of the 73, which is to gain salvation, is the Ahl-as Sunnah Wa Jamaah, the only segment of the Muslim community which adheres to that which the Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) and his Companions (radi Allahu anhum) adhered to.

OPINION OF GREAT SCHOLARS AND SAINTS

1. Ghawth-al A’zam, Hadrat Shaykh Abd’al Qadir al-Jilani (radi allahu anhu) states: “There are 73 groups as foretold by Sayyiduna Rasoolallah (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) and (bear in mind that), the Ahl as-Sunnat wal Jama’at was the rightful group”. (Ghunyatut Taalibeen)

2. Imam al-Ghazzali (radi Allahu anhu) writes: “The Ahl as-Sunnat Wal Jama’at is the successful Firqah (group) and it is this Firqa which weighs or determines its thoughts and its according to the scales of the Noble Qur’an”. (Mujarribaate Imam Ghazal)

3. Hadrat Shah Wali’ullah Muhaddith Dehlawi (radi Allahu anhu) states: “As Rasulallah (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) has stated, follow this ‘Sawad al-A’zam’, and when the four Madhabs are within the Sawad al-A’zam then the following of any one of them, is followance of the Sawad al-A’zam. Therefore, refuting any one of them is refuting the Sawad al-A’zam”. (Aqdul Jayyad)

4. Imam Sufyan Souri (radi Allahu anhu) states,“By Sawad al- A’zam is meant those who are called the Ahl as-Sunnah W’al Jama’ah”. (Al Mizaanul Qubra)

5. Shah Abdul Aziz Muhaddith Dehlawi (radi Allahu anhu) states in his book “Fatawa Azeezi” (Vol. 2, pg. 4) that:“The various parts of the Ahl as-Sunnat Wal Jama’at in Aqaa’id such as the Ash’ariya, the Maaturadi, in Fiqh such as the Hanifa, the Shafi’i,the Hambali, in Tasawwaf such as the Qaderi, the Chisti, Naqshabandi, the Suhurwardi, this servant considers all of them to be the truth”.

6. Imam Rabbani, Mujaddid Alif Thaani (radi allahu anhu) states in the second chapter, page 67 of his “Maktubaat Shareef” that: “The way of salvation is followance of the Ahl as-Sunnat Wal Jama’at. May Almighty Allah Ta’ala bestow blessings upon the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jama’at, in their speech, in their actions, laws, for this is the successful group.Besides this, all other groups have become victims of deception. Today, nobody realises how much these misled groups will be punished, however, on the Day of Qiyamah this secret will become apparent. Even though at that time this knowledge will be of no benefit to the misled.”
